From Marienkirchhof, you pass the Red Town Hall and enter the Nikolaiviertel before continuing to the Spree and the Schlüterhof. The loop then leads via Friedrichswerder Church and Bebelplatz back to Museum Island, finishing at Berlin Cathedral and the Sanchi Gate.

Your GPS puzzle tour leads from stop to stop through central Berlin. The surroundings provide the clues, your team connects them and enters the answers in the app. Set out in the evening and you may also encounter colourful lighting and projections on individual buildings during October. They are separate from the tour and may change.
The complete route
Twelve stops through Berlin’s historic centre
The roughly three-kilometre loop starts at Marienkirchhof near Alexanderplatz S-Bahn and U-Bahn station. It connects the Nikolaiviertel, the Spree riverbank, Humboldt Forum, Schinkelplatz, Bebelplatz and Museum Island. The finish at the Sanchi Gate brings you back close to the starting point.
St. Mary’s Church
The tour begins at Marienkirchhof, directly beneath the TV Tower.
Red Town Hall
From Marienkirchhof, the route heads to Berlin’s distinctive town hall.
Nikolaiviertel
Every detail matters in the lanes of Berlin’s oldest quarter.

The trail continues to Berlin’s historic centre.

How it works
Download the app, form a team and start puzzling.
One player opens the Berlin tour under “I want to play”, starts the game and selects “Invite team members” in the lobby. The others join with the shared game code.
Follow the route and solve twelve puzzles together. You will find the decisive clues at each station.
At the finish, you will see your team’s final score.

After the finale, the app displays your final score. Send a clear screenshot by 31 October 2026 to info@myoutdoorescape.fun. The highest submitted score wins ten tickets for more myOutdoorEscape tours.
Competition terms
- Every team that emails a screenshot by 31 October 2026 inclusive showing completion of the tour and the score achieved is eligible.
- The team with the highest submitted score wins. If teams are tied for the highest score, every tied team is a winner and receives ten tickets.
- Winning teams will be contacted within one week after the event ends using the email address from which their screenshot was submitted.
- The ten tickets have no time or course restrictions and can be used to play any tour in myOutdoorEscape.

Questions about the Berlin puzzle tour
When can I play the tour for free?
The Berlin puzzle hunt is available for free from 3 through 31 October 2026. You can also submit your high score for the competition through 31 October.
Can I play the tour after dark?
Yes. On October evenings, you may encounter additional lighting installations and projections on individual buildings along the route. They are a changing part of Berlin’s cultural programme and are separate from the puzzle hunt.
Where does the tour start and finish?
The tour starts at Marienkirchhof by St Mary’s Church and finishes at the Sanchi Gate in the Humboldt Forum. The finish is roughly 500 metres from the starting point as the crow flies.
How long does the puzzle hunt take?
Allow 90 to 120 minutes for the route with twelve puzzles.
What do we need?
One smartphone with the myOutdoorEscape app, mobile internet access and sufficient battery. You play together as a team.
